
Rehovot (literally meaning “streets”) is a quiet city, not the default tourist attraction.
located in central Israel, 24 km south of Tel Aviv and was founded in 1890, as an agriculture based vilage. Today’s population of Rehovot is 105,000 (2004).
The city’s logo contains three characteristic elements: Oranges stand for Rehovot being a citrus city famous for it’s delicious oranges. The microscop stands for the leading science institutes in the city and the book stands for the education being a top goal for Rehovot.
The cafes and restaurants in rehovot are gathered mostly on the main street. You can find a few bars, and more than several cafes, restaurants, malls, bakeries and more.

Places to visit near Rehovot:
- Beit Elazari, an agricultural settlement south of Rehovot, you can visit a big greenhouse and be surprised of how many kinds of cactuses are there.
- Rishon Le Zion: once a Jewish settlement dating to 1882, now a city. Look for the Rothschild winery. Rishon is 10 minutes drive north-west to Tel Aviv, and a few minutes drive north to Rehovot.
